Both light and succulent, this Riesling is dry and full of lemony freshness. Aromas and flavors of apricots, golden apples, pears, white peach, orange zest and honey, and interestingly a hint of salt. There is Riesling's distinctive Petrol nose with a hint of rose petals as well.

Shaefer-Frohlick's Bockenauer Felseneck is a 7.5 hectare vineyard, with soils of Blue Devonian slate, basalt and quartz soils. The average age of the vines here is 36 years old.  In 2005, the Gault-Millau/German Wine Guide selected Tim Fröhlich as their newcomer of the year. A few years later in 2010, they chose him as winemaker of the year...the youngest ever.  It all began in 1998 when he stepped into a virtually unknown estate, and re-shaped it into one of the top Nahe estates within a very short period of time. Soils in his vineyards are slate and quartz-based. Tim Frohlich is considered among many to be a 'master' of indigenous yeast fermentation. The results are seen in his Grosse Gewachs (Grand Cru) wines, garnering some of the highest scores in Germany.
