San Baltazar Nuestra Soledad Mezcal

The newest bottling of Nuestra Soledad from mezcal legends El Jolgorio is a single-village offering cultivated, distilled, and bottled at the source in San Baltazar Chichicapam. Master Distiller Gregorio Martinez Garcia respects the traditions of generations past and distills the Espadin agave for this spirit according to manual, centuries-old methods. A great value for the category, notes here include a pure nose of honeydew, uncured bacon, summer grass, burning smoke stacks, and bee pollen. The entry is soft and fruity up front, while flavors of smoke and acidity dry up the mid-palate all the way through the crescendoed finish.
