Drouhin Vosne Romanee 2016

"The Vosne villages bottling here has been getting better and better with each passing vintage and the 2016 is excellent. The nose is pure and nascently complex, offering up scents of black cherries, black raspberries, bitter chocolate, Vosne spices, dark soil tones, duck and a touch of cedar. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and already nicely open on the attack, with a good core, modest tannins and a long, tangy and focused finish. This does not have quite the mid-palate stuffing of the lower-cropped Chambolle this year, but it is a tad more precise and complex. (Drink between 2018-2045)." 91 Points, John Gilman
