This wine is produced via traditional vinification in concrete tanks with extraction using the pumping over method. There is a 4 week maceration period. The wine is aged for 14 months in oak barrels previously used for one to two vintages.
Very black, complex and slightly reductive on the nose. The wine shows notes of ripe, wild black fruit, which are then joined by notes of graphite, carbon and soot. massive on entry to the palate with tight, fine tannins and lovely mineral tautness. Overall, the wine gives a sensation of volume, is full-bodied on the palate, well-structured, meaty and crisp. This is a powerful, distinguished Cornas, which shows a great deal of balance and finesse.
